Friday Brewday: Double Nickel Brewing
Here it is!
Finally!
It’s Friday.
If your week has been anything like mine, it’s been way too long and you’ve been looking forward to this Friday Brewday since about 7 AM on Monday morning.
Looking back at my recent visit to the East Coast, I was introduced to another New Jersey brewery called Double Nickel Brewing Company.
The warehouse sized brewery and bar space sits right alongside Rt. 73 in Pennsauken. Picking two flights, I got to sample eight of their delicious beers. While all were enjoyable, there were a few standouts.
1.) Vienna Lager: darker than the straightforward Pilsner, this malty brown lager is delicious. Both refreshing and full bodied without being overbearing, it’s a fantastic quick sipper even on warm days.
2.) Rye Porter: a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of caramel , and a little bit of rye flavor, this 6.5% porter is a great example of the style and an awesome dark beer.
3.) Brickface: 10% ABV and 90 IBU combine in this imperial red IPA filled with delicious malt flavor and bitterness living in perfect harmony. Definitely my favorite of the bunch.
These are just three of the amazing offerings from DNBC but a lot of the others in our flight were standouts on their own. With so many delicious options, it would be easy for anyone to find the one they’d call their favorite.
So, kick back with a Double Nickel Brewing Company Beer (if you’re nearby) and let me know which one is your favorite.
Although, if you sadly happen to be too far from their home base, what’s everyone drinking to end their week with?
Until next week…
