How To Gain 20 Pounds On Holiday
Greetings, Readers!
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that it’s been a pretty rough week so far with the death of one of my all time favorite musicians.
Of all time.
So, I write this post to all of you, a little sad, but with Bowie blasting my eardrums through my Bose headphones.
Let’s hope this sandwich isn’t a letdown, right?
How To Gain The “Holiday 20”
I spent some time this past holiday in Cleveland, and of course prior to my trip I did a lot of research into breweries and sandwiches that i could tackle while there.
I ate at a number of places in Cleveland, as well as in Pittsburgh, and at the homes of friends and family, so the Holiday weight gain was easily achieved.
And let’s be honest here, if I’m doing there, I’m going to go all out when I hit up a sandwichery or brewery.
What makes everything even better is when you can do a sandwich at a brewery, just like I did for today’s post at Fat head’s Brewery.
Tucked away in a business complex in Middleburg Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, you might actually miss Fat Head’s the first time you drive by. Even though the outside may not look like anything special, that all changes when you walk inside. Brightly colored and welcoming, Fat Head’s is the brewery I would hang out at often if I lived in the area.
The beer is delicious, but I’ll write up about it in one of the upcoming Friday Brewdays.
This is a sandwich post afterall.
Pub Food Done Right
Plenty of options on the menu, but I needed something not only delicious but able to soak up a lot of the beer I would be drinking.
Enter, The Grilled Cheese.
Well, prior to that we started with the massive Bavarian pretzel, a deliciously warm and soft pub pretzel that served to whet our appetites for dinner.
The grilled cheese through was made up of two thick pieces of Texas-ish toast, filled with gooey cheddar cheese and of course, bacon.
It was delicious, a little buttery, quite a bit savory, and deliciously bacon-y.
These two options are pretty standard in terms of pub food, which means they need that little bit extra to make them stand out, and this brewpub achieves that.
Solid Sandwich Selections
The pulled pork and muffaletta sandwiches also sounded good, and would provide a hearty background for all of the beer that is necessary to consume at Fat Head’s, and they’ll definitely be on the ol’ “To Try” list next time around.
Speaking of that beer, make sure you check out my Friday Brewday NEXT Friday to hear about my experience with some of their hoppy ales as well as their heavy winter warmers.
Until next time, Readers…
