Hot Dog Heaven
Greetings, Readers!
Hopefully the real start of the summer seasons finds you well, with barbecues already firing up for a delicious three months to come.
While I may be a huge fan of barbecues, burgers, and beers for the summer, there’s one other thing that’s on par with the rest: Baseball.
And so there I was, the night before my birthday, enjoying a night at Dodger Stadium watching a true master at work, Clayton Kershaw.
A beautiful cool, pre-summer evening watching a relatively short game (2:11 because Kershaw is a beast) and of course with the requisite baseball food: hot dogs.
I’ve written about the world famous Dodger Dog before (all-beef only, please) and I’ve talked how I enjoyed it, but really I think the experience was influenced by my love of the game, and seeing baseball in person.
Side note, I’ve also talked about the not-as-famous Super Dodger Dog before too. That, a hot dog topped with everything, was not nearly as good nor enjoyable and usually required wearing a body length bib.
Now I know not everyone is a baseball fan (and I do think you’re insane because of it) but there’s something even more enjoyable about actually spending time at a game in person. The crowd, the players, the excitement of watching a home run ball sail over left field. All of these things make the experience everyone should enjoy at least once a summer.
Plus there’s beer, and sometimes good craft beer, so really you’ve got like zero excuses to not go now.
So after another fun round of baseball (Dodgers won on a complete game shutout by Kershaw, Happy Birthday to me) and Dodger Dogs, I thought I’d throw out a few of my favorite hot dog links to get you ready to find the one you love this summer.
Have you tried any of these?
And what’s your favorite way to eat the summer’s best portable sandwich?
Enjoy, and until next week….
